CHINA 2016
Jimi has been invited to return to China to play music from his latest album 'Last King of Pictland'.
Organisers of the annual Chinese new Year festival in Beijing are keen for Jimi to take part in next year's event which usually takes place sometime around the end of January/beginning of February and lasts a full week.
If Jimi agrees, he will be making his third visit to the Chinese capital in ten years. First in 2006 with an 'alternative' ceilidth band and then again in 2010 with African drummer Sam Okoo. This time Jimi will be accompanied by at least two other Scottish musicians to perform music from 'Last King of Pictland'
Chinese organisers are understood to be particularly impressed with Jimi's 'audio visual' music videos on You Tube and Vimeo, particularly his latest offering 'Pig Man Goes to Whisky Town' (see posts below) Jimi plans to incorporate some of theses scenes and theatrics into his live set. He will also be reciting ancient celtic poetry - In Gaelic and Welsh!
A final decision is expected sometime in the next few weeks, assuming terms and conditions are met.
Here's a flyer Jimi has had prepared following a request from Beijing..
'Last King of Pictland' is available to buy through most good music retailers and on line stores. The album, Jimi's sixth, has just been repressed following strong UK and European sales.
