Jimi China bound again!

Jimi is returning to China for more shows this October.

He has been booked to perform at a week long festival in the city of Kunming, capital of Yunnan province which is China's big internal tourist destination and in the deep south on the border with Laos.

This will be Jimi's second visit to China this year having performed at a week long festival celebrating Chinese New Year in Beijing last January/early February.

All told it will be his fourth piping trip to China and his first ever performances outside the capital (Beijing). He will be performing solo using backing tracks for stage performances.

Jimi is delighted to be returning to China so soon after his last visit."It's another big park gig but the weather will be very different to the winter conditions I have been used to in Beijing" he said. "Kunming is known as the City of Eternal Spring because it's in a sub-tropical region but on a high plateau. I will be leaving my winter woolies at home this time!"

The festival runs from 1st to 7th October and Jimi will be flying out on September 28.

"I will be there for 10 days in total with time for a couple of days of sightseeing" added Jimi. "Chinese organisers are covering all my travel and accommodation costs and paying a very good fee. As a performer it doesn't come any better".

Frank Wilson,  European booking agent for the festival, said organisers had requested six acts and " quite specifically asked for Jimi"
