First Release of 2021.

Jimi has made his first music video release of 2021 - a version of the trad & country classic 'Black Jack Davy'.

Black Jack Davy is a popular and much covered folk song which originated as a Scottish Border ballad in the 16th or 17th Century. It tells the story of a bored young lady who forsakes a life of comfort and luxury to run off with a handsome gypsy.

The song has been covered by many artists and bands including 'The Incredible String Band', 'Steeleye Span', Bob Dylan and more recently Jack White and 'The White Stripes'.

In this new interpretation Jimi brings the song back home to its, and his own, Border roots. Joining him in the arrangement are Neil Warden on guitars and David Little on drums. Video was filmed during January 2021 UK lockdown with social distancing protocols being observed at all times.

Jimi and Dave's scenes were filmed in and around Galashiels. Neil's scenes were shot in his hometown, Dunfermline. Track was recorded and mixed at Soundstation Studios, High St Galashiels. Special thanks to Edinburgh based artist Helen Stephenson for video illustrations. Hope you enjoy. Slainte!
