Jimi pipes for huge crowds at Chinese New Year 2017 festival in Beijing

Jimi has just returned from another successful musical visit to China. This was the third time Jimi had been invited to perform at the Beijing Chaoyang International Chinese New Year festival with previous appearances in 2005 and 2010.

This year Jimi was booked to play twice every day at the week long carnival with performances on stage and in the street. He performed solo, using backing tapes on stage. Beijing Chaoyang International Cultural Exchange Association were extremely happy with Jimi's contribution to this year's festival. Jimi said it was an honour and pleasure to have been invited over to entertain the Chinese people again. He was one of several international artists and groups performing this year.

"It was great to be back in China" added Jimi. "The weather was cold but dry and it was nice to be out and about in the Chinese capital again, visiting famous sites and mingling with the people. Absolutely fascinating time and I always felt really safe. Chinese people are so friendly.. Hospitality was amazing. Mucho thanks to the organisers and all the young 'volunteer' helpers for helping make the week so special. Really enjoyed the company of the other performers too. A great festival. The best yet".

Jimi will be releasing some videos of his latest performances and adventures in China. In the meantime, here are a few pics. Slainte Mhor!
