Jimi back on piping duties as new music continues to receive excellent reviews.

Jimi was the especially requested piper at a big Clan MacRae wedding on Saturday (Sept 10) as his new music release 'Hills Where I Began' continues to receive excellent reviews and media coverage. (see this site's 'reviews' section for more details)

Jimi was booked at the start of 2022 to pipe at the wedding of Poldy and Maria at sumptious Ballimore House on the shores of Loch Fyne, Argyll. Poldy is the great-grandson of the MacRae who restored Eilean Donan Castle in Wester Ross, now, of course, such an iconic Scottish tourist attraction and a welcome focal point for clan MacRae members worldwide.

Jimi said it was great to meet up with Poldy, his wonderful Argentinian bride Maria and the rest of the family again, for the first time since before lockdown. Grandmother Marigold MacRae, now an amazing 94, was in fine fettle and great form, he added.

"It was a glorious day weather wise and a real honour to be asked to pipe for such lovely people in the magnificent setting of Ballimore and the beautiful Kilfinan coastal area once again" said Jimi. "This bit of Argyll is possibly one of  Scotland's best kept secrets. Absolutely stunning.

"Twas also a great pleasure to meet Maria and her family and friends many of whom had travelled to Scotland all the way from Argentina's Mendoza region at the foot of the Andeas mountains especially. Fantastic folk. Glad the weather was so kind to them. Everyone was seeing Scotland at its glorious best".

Jimi has permission to share a few pics from Maria and Poldy's big day here.

"I'm still happy and very honoured to be asked to pipe at weddings" he added. "My only advice is to contact me early in the year, mid-February at the latest. Any later than that and I'll probably be booked up for something else. My diary fills up fast. Thank you."
